Open the game. The netplay plugin window will appear. Either join a public server, or have one player host a private server.
Join a server with the /join <host>[:port][/room] command, where “host” is the address of the server, “port” is the port of the server (which defaults to 6400 if left out), and “room” is arbitrary text used to identify a gaming session. For public servers, choose a unique room ID. If a room ID is not specified, a random room ID will be assigned automatically. For private servers, there is only one room so the room parameter is ignored.
Host a private server with the /host [port] command, where “port” is the number the server will listen on for connections. If a port is not specified, the default port number of 6400 is used. When a server is hosted for the first time, a message from your firewall may appear. Be sure to click “allow”. Also, if the host is behind a NAT (home router), the port will need to be forwarded with protocol TCP.
- Apparently some of my past videos have been confusing and not so helpful for some so here's an updated video that goes more in depth into pj64.
- I recently obtained an Xbox 360 controller to use with Project 64 (it works on Single Player) and I also know that you can use the keyboard as a controller as well. However, when I tried to do multi-player on Mortal Kombat 4, it wouldn't recognize the second player controller (first that was the keyboard, then i changed it to the 360 controller) but no matter what it won't recognize the second.
But I can assign the controls fine and project 64 recognize the controller. However, when starting the game, it does not recognize the controller. The keyboard works fine though, I tried it. I also tried to download another plugin and placed it in the right file, but project 64 does not see the new dll. I was using rage from 2015. Thank you for considering supporting this project. It does help a lot and is very appreciated. It does help us continue what we love doing: pouring our heart & soul into making the best N64 emulator. It's worth noting that Project64 will stay free! You can still use all the features of the emulator even if you do not support it. Make sure that you have a wired controller. In order to use an Xbox 360 controller on Project64 without an adapter, the controller must use a non-removable wire as its power source. You cannot use a 'plug and charge' cable here. If you want to use a wireless controller, you'll have to buy a Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver unit.
Project 64 Wont Detect Ps4 Controller
(Note: If anyone is using WiFi (other than spectators), the game may be laggy unless they have a strong signal with low interference. You will probably be much better off if everyone has a wired connection.)
