Rumors

Rumors heard by the group by date:

Day 2

  • Some folk were expecting the arrival of a Halruaan airship called the Star Goddess. It never arrived. I bed it crashed in the jungle somewhere.
  • Chult had many kings and queens, but none more beautiful than Queen Zalkore. Thousands of warriors killed and died for her, but the only memorial of her reign is the garden palace of Nangalore, which lies near the eastern shore of the River Olung, north of Lake Luo.

Day 13

  • Deep in the heart of the jungle is a city built by minotaurs. It’s now overrun by snake people, but even worse things dwell below. In visions, I have seen strange devil s screaming in the dark
  • Chult was once a playground for a green dragon. Her bones mark the location of a hidden treasure trove. If you travel to Mezro and head east across the laughing Gorge , then south toward Kir Sabal, you might stumble on the dragon’s bones and earn yourself a place in the history books!
    .
    Day 22
  • The jungle is full of nature spirits-weird little elemental creatures with masks. They don’t speak, and I’ve never known one to be harmful, but their magical powers should not be taken lightly.
  • The city of Mezro was not destroyed during the Spellplague after all. Its ruins are an illusion. I heard a pale-skinned man whisper this to a dinosaur man with a big sword. The dinosaur man smelled like honeysuckle.

Day 43

  • Dwarves are determined to reclaim Wyrmheart Mine, but a red dragon lives there now. Haven’t seen one of them in a while.
  • The great god Ubtao loved mazes. If you happen upon a maze of any kind. trace a path through it. You will earn Ubtao’s favor by doing so.

Day 171

An inspection of a old guard building, they found some clues left by other explorers:

  • Fear the fangs of Ras Nsi!
  • Erik, I’ve gone in search of the nine shrines. V.
  • The puzzle cubes are the key.
  • Beware the frog monster!
  • Who is Unkh?
  • All hail the King of Feathers!
  • The snakes are not what they seem.
  • Kubazan =bravery. Shagambi = wisdom. Moa = ?

Day 176

From the narrow eastern entrance to the Tomb of the Nine Gods, the heroes learned all of the god’s nemesis by their location here:

  • Moa (jaculi) and Wongo (su-monster)
  • I’jin (almiraj) and Obo’laka (zorbo)
  • Papazotl (eblis) and Kubazan (froghemoth)
  • Nangnang (grung) and Shagambi (kamadan)
  • and then Unkh (flail snail) by himself

Visions from the Divining Pool on the second level:

  • Billie – You are looking through the eyes of a creature (everything is black-and-white) walking down a spider-webbed filled hallway before making a left-hand, 90-degree turn to a 15×15 foot room. This room contains a wooden cabinet with a numbered dial at its top set with two ornate metal spokes. Beneath the dial, a pendulum swings inside an open compartment. An egg-shaped stone adorns the pendulum’s tip. You see the hands of the creature you are looking through appear, and it looks like it dusts off the clock a bit. Then the image fades away.
  • Chidia – You are looking through the eyes of a creature (everything is black-and-white) walking down hallway before making a 45-degree turn into a 15×10 room. A five-foot-wide, floor-to-ceiling glass cylinder near the back wall of this room is filled with light, the source of which is not apparent. A tiny triangular hole is cut through the glass, five feet above the floor. Inside the cylinder, an iron lever is set into a metal plate on the floor. The creature looks it over, deems it satisfactory, and leaves the room as the vision fades.
Monster
  • Andor – Looking through the eyes of a creature (black-and-white) you hear him step on bits of broken glass until he reaches an opening. You see his hands move into view and he places a new intact window into the empty frame. He begins to seal it in with some sort of epoxy, but the vision ends abruptly as you see another tomb guardian emerge from the diving pool to attack you all!

Down the central staircase, the heroes came across another warning from Acererak:
